Rich Ramos - 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Rich has been a long standing member of the local Grand Prix club in Toronto Ontario. He always had big plans for his GT, from swapping in a supercharger or turbocharging his motor, instead he decided he wanted a stout naturally aspirated motor.

Beginning with a newer L36 block, a set of fully ported and polished cylinder heads with oversize valves, and decked .035", were sealed up with the thinnest Cometic head gaskets available and ARP studs, raising the compression ratio to an estimated 10.3:1. A double roller timing chain drives a ZZP GT3 camshaft while we used a special Rhoades lifter to improve idle and midrange power. Ported and polished lower and upper intake manifolds sandwich a ZZP HV Intake Insert, while being fed by a custom adapted Northstar 75mm throttle body and Gen2FWI intake. SLP headers and a cat-back round out the performance mods. This combo, with limited tuning, put down 199whp on a Mustang chassis dyno, which means nearly 300 horsepower at the engine itself. We knew the setup was always capable of more, however Rich has moved on to a newer vehicle, but the GT D'Overkill will hopefully resurface with another owner of the same enthusiasm. Good luck to you Rich!

Other modifications: Redline Transmissions race-ready unit with high stall converter, shift kit and 3.69 gear ratio. SSC lowering springs with KYB GR2 struts. 18" CSA Gladiator wheels with Falken 452 rubber.
