If you have a 2008 to 2011 Cadillac CTS with the 3.6 Direct Injection motor, verified with the 8th digit of your VIN being a "V", then you're on the right page!
As GM 3.6 specialists, we offer the best tuning and unique products for your 3.6 motor. Our suggested modpath for the LLT 3.6 CTS is as follows:
- Overkill Tuning - Provides the biggest bang for your buck, improved throttle response, transmission shifting, harder acceleration, and will support new modifications as you add them so it's not a one and done deal
- Intake system - Air intake systems are available from several companies, though I would save your money, drill your lower air housing to allow more air to enter, and replace the panel filter with a K&N filter if you desire. Changing to a larger 3.5" diameter intake would be worthwhile, but will require tuning
- Overkill 76mm Throttle Body - The Overkill 76mm replaces the 72mm factory throttle body. You'll see improved throttle response and gain horsepower noticable at higher rpms. Now is when you should look to upgrade the size of your intake tubing as well, the factory tube won't fit the 80mm opening.
- Ported Intake manifold or LFX Intake Manifold Swap - A proper ported manifold opens up the manifold inlet to 80mm to gasket match and fills in a turbulent entrance cavity to improve flow. An alternative is to swap on the LFX 3.6 plastic intake manifold, and get a ported version from JacFab; this will improve performance over the LLT aluminum unit with better internal flow and reduced heatsoak. Use a 2012-16 Acadia lower intake manifold to adapt to the LLT.
- High Stall Torque Converter - This mod is ambiguous on where it fits on the modpath. If you want to drop nearly a full second from your 0-60mph time and launch hard from a standstill, a high stall torque converter is one of the best mods for the 3.6, which is a high rpm motor. It's a significant install but worthwhile. Overkill tuning is recommended before doing the torque converter.
- More minor mods - Exhaust work is small gains on the 3.6, you can install the mufflers you like and gain more sound than horsepower, and there's also the MACE intake manifold imsulator which reduces heat soak on the aluminum manifold.
- Supercharger! - For the ultimate mod, look at our Overkill Supercharger system, achieve 100-200 horsepower gains all depending on your goals and budget with bolt on modifications
We're proud to be a premier tuner for the 2008-2011 CTS's 3.6 LLT Direct Injection V6 and one of the few outfits dedicated to tuning the oddball engine management computer in this generation V6 CTS. Gains of 15 wheel horsepower and up, provides improved performance gains from your intake and exhaust modifications, improves the transmission shift schedule to make the car quicker at all speeds and throttle positions, and more. Available exclusively at Overkill is the only larger throttle body upgrade for the LLT 3.6 engine. Not a machined or "ported" factory unit, this is a true larger throttle body, 76mm versus the factory 71mm. For your CTS, the gains are simple: more airflow at all throttle positions, significantly better throttle response, bolts right on with no wiring or manifold modifications required; inlet porting on the manifold is suggested to maximize the improvement in airflow but not required. No tuning is required for this upgrade! You will however need a new intake system coupler for the larger throttle body and it's 3.5" clamping area. For K&N owners, use this 3.5" to 3.25" 90 degree silicone elbow (it will need 1.5" cut from each end) http://www.intakehoses.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=R90B-325-350&Category_Code=9DRESQ For Airaid owners, use this 4" to 3.5" straight reducing coupler http://www.siliconeintakes.com/intake-pipe-reducer/pipe-reducer-p-539.html BACK TO PRODUCT LISTINGS |
